About Me

My photo
I'm a wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. I try to be creative - sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. I'm my own worst critic! I'm self taught in a lot of my crafts, but have taken quilting classes and most recently a beginner's rug hooking class. I enjoy both crafts tremendously. I'd like to learn to be a better gardener.

September 11

Today is a day that I will never forget.  I remember what I was doing at the moment one of my co-workers said that one of the World Trade Centers had been hit by a plane.  We all thought it had something to do with the traffic control tower at the nearby airport.  Then we found out the second one had been hit.  We knew then that something was terribly wrong.  I live in Ohio but we were all scared.  People started crying, some left and went home.  Myself, a friend and another co-worker were out on the top of the parking deck talking about how quiet it was (all air traffic had come to a screeching halt) when I head a jet fly nearby.  I told them "I hear a jet".  One thought I was just scared.  The other thought she had heard something too.  Turns out it was the plane that had turned around to head back towards Washington and crashed in PA.  The day was a beautiful day just like today.  Sun shining, skys so blue.  So many lives have been changed from that one event.  People that were in New York that day - first responders, firemen, policemen are coming down with cancers, loved ones proudly went to war only to never come home or if they did come home they're hurt/disabled.  Hug your loved ones today.  Take a moment to be thankful for what you have no matter how little it is.  Let today be the day that you "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff".

Peace be with you.
