About Me

My photo
I'm a wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. I try to be creative - sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. I'm my own worst critic! I'm self taught in a lot of my crafts, but have taken quilting classes and most recently a beginner's rug hooking class. I enjoy both crafts tremendously. I'd like to learn to be a better gardener.

WHEW!

Did you all hear that!?  That was the sound of me doing the happy dance because I have finally completed sewing all the gifts that I made for Christmas (sorry no pics yet - have to wait until after Christmas to show you!).  I started out thinking I just needed to make 14.   So I started working on them in May.  Then as I was working on them I thought to myself "hey this would be a good thing to make and give to so and so".  So by the time it was said and done and the thread and lint all settled I had made 35 of these in various sizes and designs.  Yep, 35!!!!  What was I thinking!!!!  LOL!  I finished the last 3 last night.    Lucky for me that my hubby wrapped all the gifts to the grandkids so tonight I can go home and wrap his gifts and except for cooking dinner I'll be all done with my Christmas preparations!  YAY!

A friend and I get together every other week for "craft night" at her house.  I've taught her and her daughter some new things and they have just taken off with it.  I will post a picture of the gift they gave me when I post the other pictures.  My friend has also told me that there might be two other people joining our group.  I told her I might need to start taking pictures of what we're working on, finished projects, etc for my blog.  She was more receptive to this than I thought she'd be.  Then she said I needed to teach her how to "blog" and set up a blog.  So that is on our plans to do.  My friend, her daughter, and I started the Country Village quilt before the holidays.  My friend is almost done with her top.  Her daughter and I still need to finish our squares and sew  them together.  I have several quilts that are on my "to do" list for next year.  I also need to do more rug hooking as I have several projects I'd like to complete next year in those as well.  Time for me to make a list of what I need/want to finish in 2013!!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to post before Christmas so...

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful holiday!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Well done Char on your Christmas craft projects. Wow, 35 gifts, that's amazing. I'l looking forward to seeing your pictures.

I'm slowly working on my Childhood Memories rug and posted some pictures on my blog recently. I'm dyeing some wool as I need it for little objects in my rug. I'm in no rush to finish as I have to draw as I go.
    Have a lovely Christmas.
    Hugs,
