About Me

My photo
I'm a wife, mom, grandmother and great grandmother. I try to be creative - sometimes it works, most times it doesn't. I'm my own worst critic! I'm self taught in a lot of my crafts, but have taken quilting classes and most recently a beginner's rug hooking class. I enjoy both crafts tremendously. I'd like to learn to be a better gardener.

Here we are in February already!

And I’m still trying to figure out how to post pictures to my blog... I may have to schedule a class at the nearest Apple store to learn how to do that and how to delete and add songs to my iPod.   But that will have to wait until probably March because February is supposed to be a “colder than normal and snow above normal” for February here in Ohio.

Meanwhile I’m wetting lots of hand quilting done.  Almost finished with one quilt.  Then just have to make the lost block and sew all,the blocks together for another quilt top, sandwich, and quilt.  I still have two more quilt tops to mark and sandwich as well as a table runner.  And one more quilt top to sew together and quilt.  Hoping to get these all completed this year.  Hoping to get at least two more quilted before the weather gets too warm.  Big plans....LOL!

I had taken up rug hooking several years ago.  I have one finished and I think, 3 or 4 to finish.  All small rugs.  Then I just kind of lost interest for a couple of years...life got in the way.  Lately I’ve been yearning to put them on my frame and finish them.  I see so many pretty rugs and mats on Facebook...Out of Hand Rug Hookers group.  So maybe this will be the year for rughooking for me.

Take care, stay warm and thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Char, It's nice seeing a post from you that tells of being busy hand quilting. My last quilt was a king size tulip appliqué in 2012.

Do you have an iPad or a laptop? Did you check on line on how to import photos on your Mac?

After importing a photo from my camera, I create a file on my desktop and drag the photo in the file and when I'm on my blog, I
click on that image icon and take it from there.

I have a Canon Rebel T1 camera that comes with a small cable that I plug into my laptop. I then turn my camera on and it opens my photo page and I import the photo.

If you tell me what you know or don't know, maybe I can help you in an email. It all sounds difficult but it's really easy once you know how. Let me know either by email or on my blog if you want to go that route. Maybe I can help.
    Hugs, Julia
